Unesco: 2.4 million girls in Afghanistan affected by school ban
Unesco reports that 2.4 million girls in Afghanistan are excluded from secondary schools.
According to Unesco, approximately 2.4 million girls in Afghanistan are denied the opportunity for secondary education. This finding comes five years after the Taliban took control.
Unesco warns that this number could rise to nearly four million by 2030. Afghanistan is the only country that denies girls and women access to secondary education.
