Tamil Nadu Assembly Unanimously Passes Resolution on Tamil Thaai Vazhthu
The Tamil Nadu Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution regarding the state song Tamil Thaai Vazhthu to be sung first at events.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution to ensure that the state invocation song, Tamil Thaai Vazhthu, is rendered at government functions. This resolution was passed without any opposition during the Assembly session.
The move comes after a letter from the Union Home Ministry, dated July 9, 2026, which included observations about the rendering of the state song and directed the state government to perform Vande Mataram at the beginning of state functions.
As part of the resolution, Tamil Thaai Vazhthu is to be prioritized as the first song to be sung during these events, reinforcing its significance in state functions.
