Russia Bars Anti-War Party Yabloko from Parliamentary Elections
Russia's Supreme Court has prohibited the only anti-war party, Yabloko, from participating in upcoming elections.

On Monday, Russia's Supreme Court ruled that Yabloko, the country's only anti-war party, will not be allowed to take part in the parliamentary elections scheduled for September. This decision effectively removes the party from the electoral process, following a poll earlier this year that indicated Yabloko had only three percent support, below the five percent threshold required to gain seats in Russia's lower house of parliament.
This move follows a broader pattern of restrictions imposed on dissenting political voices in Russia amid ongoing conflict. The ruling highlights the challenges facing any opposition in the current political environment.
