OpenAI to Launch New AI Smart Speaker by 2027

OpenAI is reportedly developing a new artificial intelligence smart speaker designed by Jony Ive, the former Apple designer. This device is characterized as being roughly the size of a hockey puck and shaped like a doughnut, and it will be battery-powered, according to a report from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

The expected launch year for the smart speaker is 2027, with a projected retail price ranging from $300 to $400. This pricing places the device in the premium segment of smart speakers, which typically offer enhanced features and design.

Additionally, the device is said to incorporate moving parts, intended to make it appear "more alive," as reported by Gurman. OpenAI has confirmed that the design of the speaker is original and not a replica of existing Apple products.
