Mamata Banerjee Alleges Attack on Her Car Near Kolkata
Mamata Banerjee reported an attack on her vehicle during a visit to Halisahar amid ongoing protests over a party worker's death.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed that her car was attacked near Kolkata while she was en route to the home of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) party worker who allegedly died in police custody. She stated that her vehicle could have been seriously damaged or worse during the incident, which involved protesters reportedly throwing stones at it.
In response, BJP leader Samik Bhattacharya denied any involvement of the party in the incident. Additionally, a West Bengal minister also asserted that there was no evidence pointing to BJP's role in the alleged attack on Banerjee's convoy, while TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee condemned the violence and highlighted the attacks on the Chief Minister's vehicle.
