Bengaluru Officials Raid Hotels Over Food Safety Violations
Authorities in Bengaluru and Mumbai have intensified food safety inspections, revealing unsanitary conditions and unlicensed vendors in several establishments.
A three-day food safety inspection drive took place in Bengaluru from August 7 to 10, targeting 60 hotels, including both five-star and three-star establishments, as well as major fast food outlets.
During the inspections, food safety officials discovered unsanitary conditions, including the presence of rotten meat and expired dairy products. More than 70 food samples were taken for laboratory analysis, and a kitchen at a prominent lounge bar was sealed due to these violations.
In addition to the raids in Bengaluru, the enforcement actions extended to Mumbai, where officials addressed unlicensed vendors and other food safety issues. This crackdown follows numerous public complaints regarding food quality and safety.
