At the European Swimming Championships, Veneto's Thomas Ceccon finished fourth in the 50-meter butterfly, missing out on the podium by just 0.04 seconds. His time was 22.72.
The gold medal was won by Russian Kornev, followed by French swimmer Grousset who took silver, and Belarusian Pekarski who secured bronze.
