RKI reports around 9,600 heat-related deaths in June
The Robert Koch Institute has updated the number of heat-related deaths during the week in June.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has reported in a recent statement that the heatwave from June 22 to June 28 has led to approximately 9,600 deaths in Germany. This figure is significantly higher than previous estimates, which assumed fewer heat-related fatalities.
The RKI's statement indicates that the extreme temperatures during this week had a significant impact on public health. The number of heat-related deaths has therefore been considerably revised upwards to reflect the seriousness of the situation.
