Lukas Weißhaidinger reaches discus final at the European Championships in Birmingham

Lukas Weißhaidinger reached the final of the top twelve discus throwers at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham on Tuesday. The Upper Austrian threw the discus to a distance of 65.06 meters on his first attempt, securing fourth place in the qualification round.

After his successful throw, Weißhaidinger decided not to carry out his last two attempts. He had previously struggled with a back spasm that had affected him leading up to the championships. With his qualification for the final, he has laid the groundwork for a potential medal.

Niklas Strohmayer-Dangl also made it to the semifinals in the 400-meter hurdles. The decisions at the athletics European Championships continue to be followed with great anticipation.
