France has implemented a ban on unsolicited commercial calls starting Tuesday, in accordance with a law passed by parliament in May 2025. This new legislation requires companies to obtain clear and specific prior consent from consumers before making any telemarketing calls.

Although the ban aims to restrict unwanted calls, it does not completely eliminate the possibility of telephone scams, according to reports. Consumer advocacy groups have expressed the view that the ban represents a significant shift in telemarketing practices in the country.

The measure has been widely discussed in the context of consumer protection, and its implementation is seen as essential to ensuring greater respect for the privacy of citizens.
